Summary

Working as a key member of the newly created Senior Quality Leadership Team, the Head of Quality Control is responsible for on-time delivery of the QC elements of the Supply Chain as well as directing the strategy approach to Quality Control for the site.

The Head of QC will own and drive the quality improvement and transformation agendas, collaborating with the senior team to move the function into a new future state. The Head of QC will develop and implement the quality control management strategy and plan for the whole QC function (Microbiology, QC Chemistry, Biochemistry).

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the performance of the Quality Control function. Responsible for planning and managing quality activities and performance in accordance with agreed targets, budgets and timescales
  • Development and delivery of a Strategy and plan for QC teams
  • Ensure that QC laboratories and systems are compliant and fit for purpose
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of compliance requirements, industry trends, Health authority/regulatory developments. Supports integration of requirements into quality systems
  • Accountable for setting the quality standards, targets, measures and performance managing all QC teams through the use of lean sigma tools to drive year-on-year improvement in performance
  • Ownership for performance against all compliance activities including NC/CAPA, change control and HS&E
  • Develop and implement a communication strategy to improve awareness and ownership of quality issues across the entire company
  • Key contributor to audits/inspections by customers, internal auditors and external regulatory bodies. Ensure the QC function is continually inspection ready

Required experience

  • Strong people focussed manager with leadership, coaching and influencing capability
  • Able to lead multiple quality improvement activities within cross functional teams
  • Substantial experience leading teams in an Operational Quality environment (of which a significant amount should include managing complex QC teams)
  • Experience of fronting multiple Health Authority inspections and internal audits
  • In-depth experience across multiple Quality systems and Data Integrity
  • Work experience across multiple GxPs
  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject
